40,000 birds flock Wular Lake in Kashmir’s Bandipora

Bandipora (J&K), January 20 (ANI): Wular Lake, situated in north Kashmir's Bandipora, recently attracted an impressive gathering of over 40,000 migratory birds. The revelation was made by the Wular Lake Conservation and Management Authority (WCMA) in its preliminary survey of the lake. Recognized as a crucial international asset, the lake welcomed back a variety of winter guests, including Common Pochards, Ruddy Shelducks, and Greylag Geese. Interestingly, some birds were spotted for the first time since the restoration efforts on Wular Lake. Each year, migratory birds make their journey from regions such as Siberia, Japan, China, and other countries to the wetlands of Kashmir.
