2-day workshop on disaster preparedness organised in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sept 17 (ANI): A 2-day workshop on disaster preparedness was organised at Government College of Education in Srinagar. It was organised by the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation in collaboration with Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir. It aimed to raise awareness and train people to handle the disaster situation. Large number of people especially youths participated in the workshop. Experts gave different lectures about the topic and also kept some special machinery and equipment for demonstration purposes. Notably, youths are always coming forward for rescue at the time of disaster including earthquakes and major fire incidents. They can play a major role if they get basic training regarding rescue and rehabilitation. So that’s why a good number of people including youths participated at a large scale and demanded that such types of initiatives should be continued in future.
