Obesity poses risk to traumatic brain injury recovery

New Delhi, Jul 07 (ANI): Being obese is linked with chronic health conditions, including high blood pressure, heart failure, and diabetes. But it also poses a health risk in the years following rehabilitation for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). A proactive approach towards managing weight and related health conditions help in long-term TBI survivors. According to a study, a large number of TBI survivors were classified as obese and overweight. While the percentage of overweight patients was relatively stable, the obesity rate increased over time, especially after TBI.
