Obese children at more risk to die early than healthy peers, says study

New Delhi, Jan 25 (ANI): Obesity is slowly taking over the world with the recent onslaught of tempting junk food in the market. Among several health risks associated with obesity, life span of obese children is also affected severely, according to a study. According to a report by Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), four out of five obese children remain obese throughout their life span resulting in losing 10-20 years of their lives. RCPCH is also campaigning against advertisements of soft drinks and unhealthy food on television after the statistics. Child Health remains a concern with the recent statistics. RCPCH has demanded "child health in all policies" approach from governments worldwide to counter obesity among children.
