Children with autism may have higher risk of developing anxiety disorders: Study

New Delhi, Apr 01 (ANI): Children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may be at higher risk of developing anxiety disorders, according to a latest study. Researchers at Kennedy Krieger Institute in the US examined a survey using cross-sectional data of children with (ASD) aged between 6 and 17 years. Out of total number of 3,319 children examined, 1503 had (ADHD). The data was analysed by reports of diagnosis of anxiety of mood disorders by parents. The results stated that children with ASD and ADHD had twice the risk anxiety disorders.
