The annual pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath from Jammu to Srinagar was suspended on Wednesday due to a landslide on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, officials said.
Speaking to the reporters in the state capital, Mishra said, “A case has been registered against unknown persons in the matter. All the CCTV footage has been collected and it is being checked. Action will be taken against those who are found guilty.”
Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole, while addressing the media here, confirmed the news and told reporters that party leaders within the state would hold a parallel march.
The search and rescue operation for missing persons after a landslide at Gaurikund in Uttarakhand continued on Sunday, said authorities. Twenty people are still missing and three persons were killed in the landslide that occurred on Friday, according to officials.
A Parliamentary committee has made several recommendations, including stabilising airfares, mandatory adoption of Digi Yatra app and installation of baggage X-Ray machines for the modernisation of airports.
The system aims to enhance the digital experience for passengers, where they will now be scanned at checkpoints using facial recognition and improved biometrics. Passengers using Digi yatra ID can enter the terminal building from departure gate-2 after biometric facial recognition.
Amarnath Yatra which was halted at Cahbdrkote base camp in Ramban due to closing of Jammu Srinagar National Highway, has resumed from Chandrkote base camp.
