Hours after veteran leader Sharad Pawar announced his decision of stepping down as the president of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), scores of party workers on Tuesday hit the streets in Mumbai and protested against the decision.
In a major crackdown on overground workers, supporters and associates of Naxals, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday conducted searches at 14 locations across Jharkhand and Bihar in a conspiracy to expand, revive and propagate the ideology of the banned terrorist organisation.
An overground worker (OGW) was arrested during a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district late on Monday night and recovery of rifle and ammunition was made, the police said.
Multiple teams of the NIA carried out searches at the premises of suspects and OWGs in coordination with security personnel from the Union Territory and the Central Reserve Police Force.
