Former India cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir on Monday condemned the incident at northwest Delhi's Khanjawala on New Year's night in which a 20-year-old woman, riding a scooter, was hit by a car and dragged for a few kilometres under the wheels until she died.
A complaint was lodged by the woman constable at the Valasaravakkam Police Station on Sunday in this regard. However, the police is yet to register a case.
"DCP Harendra Singh says whether he (Mittal) has consumed alcohol or not, will be decided medically, but the girl is not raped, let us confirm this...." Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj quoted and mocked the DCP as saying.
"When Police reached the spot, they found injury marks on the hands, head and feet of the deceased woman. The footprints of a Truck tyre were also found at the scene," Verma added.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Monday took cognisance and sought detailed action along with the medical reports of a 20-year-old woman, who was allegedly killed after a car hit her scooty in the national capital.
Five people have been arrested in the Kanjhawala incident in Delhi where a 20-year-old girl was killed after her scooty was allegedly hit by a car and dragged for a few kilometres on Sunday, informed Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer district) Harendra K Singh on Monday.

The police informed that a woman was killed after being hit by a car and then dragged for a few kilometres on the road, being entangled in the wheels. The condition of the woman was so bad, that after being dragged on, her clothes and even the back side of her body got ripped off.
