As many as 20 trains are expected to arrive late in the national capital on Monday due to fog in several parts of the country, the railway officials said.
"Keeping in view the severe cold, it has been decided to have holiday from January 8 to January 14 in all the government and private schools of Punjab up to class 10," Mann said in a post on 'X'.

Hours after the issuance, the Delhi government retracted an order pertaining to the extension of winter vacation in schools within the national capital.
An order issued by the Director of School Education, Jammu, said that any default on the part of the Head of Schools in observance of the above schedule shall attract action under the rules.
The cold wave tightened its grip over Delhi-NCR with the minimum temperature recorded at 7.3 degrees on Thursday morning, as per India Meteorological Department data.
Every year, during foggy weather in the winter months, a large number of trains are affected, especially in the northern parts of the country. To ensure smooth rail operations, Indian Railways have provisioned 19,742 Fog Pass Devices during the foggy weather.
