Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday applauded and encouraged Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami during his visit to the Uttarkashi district to promote winter tourism in the state.
Addressing a public rally in Harsil, PM Modi said two villages in the Uttarkashi district were evacuated during the war in 1962, and the government is making efforts to make them major tourist destinations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday encouraged the people to diversify the Uttarakhand tourism sector while promoting the Winter Tourism Programme, saying that no season should be off season.
PM Modi is in Uttarkhand today, where he will perform pooja and darshan at the winter seat of Maa Ganga in Mukhwa at around 9:30 am. Around 10:40 am, he will flag off a trek and bike rally and also address the gathering at a public function in Harsil.
