BJP leaders and workers were protesting against CM Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in the state over the matter of outcry by widows of jawans who lost their lives in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot accused Meena of using the widows for political gains. Meena, in turn, has accused the police of "trying to kill him".
The protests by the Pulwama widows intensified on Thursday as they sought justice from the Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government by putting grass in their mouths.

"BJP is not doing any politics, we are only serving the people. The government has made huge promises, but it's been four years, and nothing has been done, because of which the widows are still sitting on protest," Kirori Lal Meena said.
This comes a day after relatives of three CRPF personnel killed in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack reached Congress leader Sachin Pilot's residence and demanded a meeting with the party high command, accusing the state government of not fulfilling promises made to them.
