Two people died and 13 others were rescued after a five-storey under-construction building collapsed in South Kolkata's Metiabruz area, said West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services Minister Sujit Bose on Monday.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said that she is "saddened" after a five-storey under-construction building collapsed in South Kolkata's Metiabruz area, adding that the rescue operation is underway.
According to the director in charge of West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services, Abhijit Pandey, the under-construction building collapsed in the wee hours of Monday.
A fire broke out in a paper mill located in Ranihati, Howrah on Tuesday morning. The fire has been brought under control. No casualty has been reported in the incident.
