Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday instructed officials to establish the mini-textile park in 25 taluks which have the more concentration of weavers population in the coming days.
The purpose of this system is to facilitate the artisans and other stakeholders to get digital clearances and other benefits in a time-bound manner. In this regard, the department had already conducted a capacity-building program for the employees to ensure a completely paperless process.
"Karnataka has been the biggest exporter of textiles in the country and the Ilkal saree is quite famous across the country. But it needs branding on a national level and for which an agreement will be signed with online platforms like Amazon," Bommai said.
