This year's Dussehra celebrations took a historic turn when BSF Academy Director Shamsher Singh, along with BSF personnel, performed weapon worship of drones, marking their inclusion in India's evolving security arsenal.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel performed the traditional Shastra Poojan (weapon worship) on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami at his residence along with his police and security personnel, the Chief Minister's office said in a press release.
On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashmi, the Raipur police held a "Shashtra Pooja" at Police Lines Raipur. Raipur Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Lal Umed Singh worshipped Goddess Kali and weapons along with other officials.
The Border Security Force (BSF) deployed on the India-Pakistan border held a traditional 'Shastra Pooja' on the occasion of Vijayadashmi. The soldiers worshipped the weapons, including those that were used during India's responsive strike to Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack.
