Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], October 2 (ANI): On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashmi, the Raipur police held a "Shashtra Pooja" at Police Lines Raipur. Raipur Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Lal Umed Singh worshipped Goddess Kali and weapons along with other officials.
The SP informed about the new vehicles allocated to the Raipur police and security arrangements made for the Ravan Dahan.
Earlier, the 1055 Artillery Regiment of the Border Security Force (BSF) deployed in Jaisalmer also performed a traditional 'Shastra Pooja' on the occasion of Vijayadashmi, where they worshipped the weapons used in Operation Sindoor with flowers and Shakti mantras, considering them deities.
ML Garg, Inspector General (IG) BSF Rajasthan Frontier, said, "Weapon worship is the worship of power...the BSF is, by and large, the most experienced force today. It is the most effective and experienced force in handling current anti-drone technology, and this has been a significant advantage for us. This was a major benefit during Operation Sindoor.
Menawhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended wishes on the occasion of Vijayadashami on Thursday, calling the festival a symbol of the victory of good and truth over evil and untruth. In a post on social media X, the PM wrote, "Vijayadashami is a symbol of the victory of good and truth over evil and untruth. My wish is that on this sacred occasion, everyone receives the inspiration to continuously progress on the path of courage, wisdom, and devotion. My warmest greetings of Vijayadashami to my family members across the country," the post read.
Vijayadashmi, or Dusshera, marks the victory of good over evil in Hindu mythology. The day commemorates Lord Rama's victory over Ravana and Goddess Durga's victory over Mahishasur. It is also associated with the worship of weapons. People across the nation clean and worship their weapons. The 'Shashtra Pooja' is not just a ritual or tradition, but a declaration to the enemies that the nation will not be threatened. (ANI)
