One person was killed and a security personnel was injured in an attack when unknown militants opened fire on a girls' school in Pakistan's South Waziristan on Thursday, according to Dawn. The attack took place in a school in the Azam Warsak area of the South Waziristan district.
Mohsin Dawar was denied permission to leave the country, said a report, adding that he was stopped at the Islamabad International Airport as he was leaving for Tajikistan to attend the 'Herat Security Dialogue'.
Pakistani officials, in a statement, said the security official was killed when terrorists opened fire at a patrolling party in the Upper Waziristan tribal district.
Mir Ajam Khan, who came in with a dozen of his armed men, in his brief speech there, gave credit to 'good Taliban' for restoring peace in the area in 2007, the Dawn newspaper reported.
The peace march was organised by Wana Siyasi Ittihad (WSI) in South Waziristan's Wana town, Dawn newspaper reported. The protest march saw the participation of hundreds of people along with the presence of members of the PTI, Jamaat-e-Islami and other political parties.
