AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday launched a sharp attack on NDA allies including Chandrababu Naidu, Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, and Jayant Chaudhary, accusing them of enabling the BJP to target Muslim institutions and warning them that the community "will never forgive" their actions.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Friday that Waqf Amendment Bill, on which JPC has given its report, will be tabled in the Budget session of Parliament. The Budget session is slated to conclude on April 4.
"This is a way to mark protest in a democracy. Today, you will see Muslims wearing black armbands come to offer namaz. This will send a clear message that the community is against this bill," AIMPLB spokesperson Rasool IIyas told ANI.
"We oppose this bill not because it is a religious issue but because it is an issue of India's secularism," Kumar told ANI, emphasising that the bill's implications go beyond religious boundaries.
"Each political party will be adopting a suitable method of protest against the Waqf bill, my party has decided that we will oppose this bill because the only intention of the BJP government is to create polarisation," Brittas told ANI at parliament premises.
