Dinesh Sharma emphasised that free and fair elections are possible only when the voter list is accurate and transparent. He considered that the people opposing the SIR are opposing the need for transparent elections.
"The Election Commission of India's decision to implement a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voters list in Kerala and other states is a direct challenge to the democratic process," the Kerala CM said in a statement.
"Election Commission continues to think that with its brazen non-response to genuine concerns of vote manipulation, they will be able to escape accountability. But deep dive into every constituency is consistently showing vote scam," Chaturvedi posted on X.

Dilip Ghosh noted that none of the political parties registered any official complaints with the ECI against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and emphasised that no genuine voter's name can be removed from the electoral rolls.
