Ahead of the counting of votes in three North Eastern states, Meghalaya Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Ernest Mawrie on Wednesday said that his party would win 10-15 seats in this election in Meghalaya.
Meghalaya and Nagaland went for the assembly polls on February 27 and voting was held in Tripura on February 16. The three states witnessed high voter turnout. The BJP, which has replaced Congress as the dominant party in the northeast, is optimistic of prospects in the three states.
According to the Election Commission, the counting in all 13 centres will commence at 8 am on Thursday. The counting will initially begin with Postal ballot Count for the first 30 minutes followed by the counting of polled votes in the EVM Control Units.
