As the voting in the final phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha election began on Saturday, BJP leader Jaiveer Shergill appealed to the voters to exercise their franchise for the country's future and to strengthen democracy.
Tejashwi Yadav also issued a political appeal, urging people to vote against those seeking to undermine constitutional principles, reservations, and democracy.
Noted Hindustani classical singer and Padma awardee Pandit Chhannulal Mishra on Saturday, arrived in Varanasi to cast his vote in the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
After casting his vote, Amardeep Ranaut said, "It feels like Diwali. Everyone has arrived with great enthusiasm, and all the people are going to vote for the BJP by pressing the lotus button."
As the voting in the seventh and final phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha election began on Saturday, Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appealed to the voters to exercise their franchise in large numbers "to protect democracy and the Constitution."
"Voting is a significant festival in a democracy, and everyone should exercise their right to vote. We also believe that voting is essential, so we came with our entire family and cast our votes. Voting is proceeding peacefully, and I hope it concludes peacefully as well," Manjhi said.
CPI(M) candidate from Kolkata Dakshin constituency, which goes to the poll on Saturday, Saira Shah Halim lashed out at Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for "encouraging violence" on the voting day.
Under the INDIA bloc agreement in Bihar, the RJD is vying for 26 seats, Congress for nine, and the Left parties for the remaining five out of the state's 40 Lok Sabha constituencies.
