Amid the heightened tensions over the violence in Manipur, the students from Telangana who were studying in the state were brought back to Hyderabad by special flights on Monday.
The J-K Students Association here today thanked the Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha-led government for safely evacuating the students who were stranded in violence-hit Manipur.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday urged people to maintain peace while informing that a high-level inquiry will be conducted to hold those responsible for the violence to account and also act those who failed to discharge their responsibilities in containing the unrest.
The Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal banned the film 'The Kerala Story' citing "maintenance of peace" and to avoid incidents of "hatred and violence" in the state.
Recently, on May 4, six teachers, belonging to a minority community, were killed. According to Geo News, several teachers of the same school were killed in two separate incidents in Upper Kurram Tehsil of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In view of the prevailing violence in Manipur, a full fee waiver on rescheduling or cancellation of tickets for all flights to or from the northeastern state has been extended by Air India till Monday.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma expressed happiness after students from Tura, Shillong and other locations studying in Manipur landed safely in the state.
