Even as the 21-member delegation of Opposition leaders was due to arrive shortly in Manipur, Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Saturday urged the visiting I.N.D.I.A leaders to contribute to the restoration of peace and order to the violence-hit Northeast.
A 21-member delegation of the Opposition alliance, I.N.D.I.A, boarded a flight to Imphal on Saturday, saying their two-day visit to violence-hit Manipur will be aimed at assessing "the real situation on the ground".
A 21-member delegation from the grand Opposition alliance, I.N.D.I.A, is set to touch down at Imphal airport on Saturday for a two-visit to violence-hit Manipur.
Ahead of the INDIA alliance delegation's two-day visit to Manipur, AAP MP Sushil Gupta, who is also going to visit the violence-hit state said that the situation in Manipur is bad and the Government is neither able to control the violence nor do they want to discuss it in Parliament.
"We discussed the recent Panchayat elections and the incidents of violence that occurred during the polls. He (PM Modi) also enquired about the development works in the state," Sukanta Majumdar said after meeting PM Modi.
Around 96 schools that are currently involved in relief efforts have been excused from reopening after Manipur CM's proclamation of reopening Classes for 1 to 8 in schools on July 5.

West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose on Saturday met the relatives of the victims in the violence-affected Dinhata, Shimultala, and Cooch Behar areas of North Bengal.
