Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Friday arrived at Jantar Mantar to meet the wrestlers who are protesting against Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
Indian ace grappler Vinesh Phogat on Thursday alleged that the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Chief Brij Bhushan Singh is being shielded by the government.
Grapplers including Punia, Sakshi, Vinesh and others joined the march demanding the arrest of the WFI chief charged with sexual harassment of athletes.
"We will take this protest at the international level. We will write letters to international Olympians and ask them to write letters in our support," Vinesh said to mediapersons.
India's ace grapplers, including Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat among others, have been protesting at the Jantar Mantar in the national capital.
On April 23 this year the ace grapplers- Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshee Mallik- returned to the protest site at Jantar Mantar, claiming that six women wrestlers, and a minor, filed a sexual harassment complaint against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
With farmers advancing into the national capital to show solidarity with the wrestlers' protest at Jantar Mantar, ace grappler Bajrang Punia on Monday said that the protest is a "fight for the daughters of India".
Wrestlers have been protesting at Jantar Mantar for over 10 days demanding the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh and his sacking from the post in the light of allegations of sexual harassment by the wrestlers.
