Amid speculations of dissatisfaction in Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) after receiving six seats in NDA's seat-sharing arrangement in Bihar, Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Vijay Kumar Sinha said that HAM leader Jitan Ram Manjhi is "satisfied" with the decision.
BJP leaders arrived in Delhi on Friday ahead of the party's core committee meeting on Saturday, where they will finalise and discuss candidates for the upcoming two-phase Bihar Assembly elections, scheduled for November 6 and 11, with vote counting set for November 14.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Saturday slammed the Opposition leaders for criticising the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Union Minister of Civil Aviation of India Ram Mohan Naidu, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, and Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Choudhary were also present on the occasion.
Sinha's remarks come in response to Yadav's jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where he questioned his intentions to set up factories in Gujarat while seeking votes in Bihar.
"The Congress's mindset has always been against Biharis. Congress needs to answer how low they will stoop in terms of language for political gains," he added.
The Deputy Chief Minister asserted that Bihar is the pride of India, being the birthplace of many religions and home to ancient centers of learning like Nalanda and Vikramashila.
Union Minister Nityanand Rai hailed the reforms in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and said that the poor people, farmers, labourers, and the middle class will benefit from the tax cuts.
