Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Monday said that through the 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' campaign, youths of the country are resolving to connect to our soil and remember the brave soldiers who laid their lives in the line of duty.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the final event of the 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' campaign in the national capital on October 31, the Ministry of Culture said on Friday.
The march started after Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die following a protest by Oppossiton parties, who have been demanding a Joint Parliamentary Probe into the Adani stocks among other issues. The BJP has been demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi for his remarks in London.
In an attempt to show unity, the opposition parties protested against the Centre over the Adani Group issue wearing black attire and marched from the Parliament complex towards Vijay Chowk in the national capital on Monday.
The protesting MPs were detained and taken away to nearby police stations in a bus as police said they didn't have permission for the march and as Section 144 of CrPC had been imposed in the area and not agitation is allowed on Vijay Chowk.
A day after its MP Rahul Gandhi was convicted by a Surat court in a defamation case and sentenced to two years in jail, the Congress party has today planned a massive agitation. It has planned a protest at the Vijay Chowk here today.
"All of us are going to meet the Director of ED to submit a memorandum into Adani's scam. But the Government is not letting us anywhere near Vijay Chowk. They have stopped us," Mallikarjun Kharge said.
"On one hand, they (BJP) talk about believing in democracy, and on the other hand, they stop a peaceful march that too by publicly elected MPs," Mallikarjun Kharge said.
As per the sources, the Opposition leaders may submit a proposal letter signed by all the MPs and may take out a protest march to the ED office and hand over their complaint to the agency on the issue.
