The Manohar Lal Khattar-led Haryana government on Saturday said that no permission has been given to hold Braj Mandal Shobha Yatra in Nuh adding that section 144 has been imposed in the district.
Internet services have once again been suspended in the Nuh District of Haryana in view of the Brajmandal Yatra call by Vishwa Hindu Parishad on August 28.
"The religious organisations have told the Panchayat that their Yatra is incomplete and they want the Yatra to resume on 28th August. The panchayat has agreed to their demand and supported them," Ratan Singh, a Member of the panchayat said.
The remark from a bench of justices Sanjiv Khanna and SVN Bhatti came while hearing a petition related to protest rallies organised in the wake of Nuh violence.
Members of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Wednesday staged protests in several parts of the national capital against the violence that broke out in the Nuh district of neighbouring Haryana.
RJD MLA Yadav on Thursday ignited a fresh row on Ramcharitmanas with his controversial comments during a discussion where he asked, "Was Hindutva not in danger when Ramcharitmanas was being written inside a mosque?"
Peaceful protests were also held in front of the Tehsildar office in Hubli, where VHP members and supporters submitted a memorandum to press for their demands.
The district administration has also imposed Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which prohibits the gathering of four or more people in a specified area, District Magistrate of Uttarkashi Abhishek Rohilla said.
"A poor farmer killed a cow so as to prevent her from eating its grains on Friday at Atrauli Mandi area. The incident took place accidentally. We reached the spot immediately and conducted the post-mortem of the cow. The cow was then buried," the CO said, describing the incident.
