The Disaster Management Department in Kerala's Kozhikode has relaxed the restrictions in the district as no new cases of Nipah virus infection were reported in the state, the officials informed on Tuesday.
Minister Veena George began by highlighting the extensive efforts made to trace and identify individuals who may have come in contact with the infected individuals.

Kerala Health Minister Veena George on Saturday said that no new cases of the Nipah virus were reported in Kerala after 11 more body-fluid samples tested negative.
The Kerala government on Thursday decided to take body-fluid samples of all of those who are on the 'high-risk' contact list linked to the first Nipah victim, a 47-year-old man who died on August 30 in the latest outbreak of the infection in the state

Health Minister Veena George while addressing a press conference on Wednesday, said, "So far, three samples have tested Nipah positive. We have started contact tracing. Of 706 contacts, 77 are in the high-risk category, 153 health workers are in the low-risk category," Veena George said.
Amid fears of the spread of Nipah virus in Kerala after the death of two patients in Kozhikode district, Health Minister Veena George on Wednesday said the state government had made all arrangements to contain the pathogen and ensure public safety.
