Following Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's direction, the Uttarakhand government on Monday issued instructions to expedite the issuance of necessary certificates like permanent residence, caste, income and others to the students studying in class 11 and 12 in all schools across the state
The Chief Minister said, "Despite rain and snowfall, a large number of pilgrims are coming to visit the Chardhams. Necessary arrangements have been made on the travel routes for the smooth operation of travel arrangements."
On occasion, Special Executive Officer in the Tourism Department Bhaskar Khulbe and Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Mangesh Ghildiyal took stock of the reconstruction work at Badrinath Dham.
"The special feature of the scheme is that the state government will also do the work of grooming youths who are interested in employment abroad. Apart from this, the government will also help in the procedures related to tickets, visas etc. of the selected candidates," it read.
The Uttarakhand government has halted the registration process of pilgrims for the Kedarnath Dham Yatra in view of heavy snowfall in the Kedarnath pedestrian route and Dham and the warning of the Meteorological Department.
While participating in the launch program of 'Rishikesh to Char Dham Yatra - 2023" at ISBT Rishikesh, CM Dhami said, "I pray to Baba Kedar, Badrivishal, Maa Gangotri and Maa Yamanotri that like last year, the Char Dham Yatra should be completed safely with joy and pomp".
With the Char Dham Yatra set to start in Uttarakhand after three days, Dr R. Rajesh Kumar, secretary, state health department, has issued a health advisory for pilgrims.
The Chamoli district administration in Uttarakhand will take stringent action against eateries that overcharge pilgrims during Chardham Yatra. District Magistrate of Chamoli Himanshu Khurana has constituted a committee and issued orders for regular inspections of eateries.
