Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday stressed the need for states to increase spending on healthcare and said that the government of India will support states in this endeavour.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a meeting at the secretariat to discuss the development of new townships in various cities of the state.
The Chief Minister also gave instructions to prepare a flood management plan for effective prevention of water logging due to Sonali and other rivers in Laksar area.
While speaking to ANI, CM Dhami said," The flooding is excessive here, water has entered the houses of people. The Administration and all of us are here. We are seeing to it that people get food and other essential items and do not face any issues. Water will recede once the rainfall stops.
The Uttarakhand State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Thursday rescued people stranded, due to waterlogging and flooding from incessant rainfall, in Laksar.
Following incessant rainfall in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, the Badrinath National Highway (NH-7) got blocked after boulders and debris has come on highway near Pipalkotim, said officials.
The two day Swasthya Chintan Shivir will be organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare.
"I chaired a meeting with all district magistrates and officials from the administration. I have instructed everyone to help people and to make sure those who're stranded because of the flood are getting food and other needy items, to clear roads quickly," he said while talking to the report
