More than 2.5 million girls are deprived of education in Afghanistan, US Special envoy for Afghan women, girls and human rights Rina Amiri said, pointing towards the plight of females in the war-torn country, reported Khaam Press.
Amiri tweeted, "I have received messages expressing concern regarding recognition of the Taliban. We remain clear. There will be no normalization of relations with the Taliban without respect for the rights of all Afghan, especially women."
US Special Envoy to Afghanistan Thomas West has called on the International community to address the ongoing problems of the war-torn country and voice out support for dialogue and opposition to armed conflict, according to Khaama Press.
Amid ongoing violation of human rights in Afghanistan, US special envoy, Thomas West has called for respect of women's rights in Afghanistan and reiterated that the war-torn country's stability depends on the freedom of women, Khaama Press reported.
West met Deputy National Security Advisor Vikram Misri and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Joint Secretary (PAI) JP Singh. During the meeting, the US Special envoy deeply appreciated India's generous humanitarian support to Afghans.
Earlier this month, Taliban supreme leader Mawlawi Hebatullah Akhundzada ordered judges to fully implement Islamic law. Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said the command from Haibatullah Akhundzada came after the leader met with a group of judges.
