Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies responded on early Saturday to a report of multiple gunshot victims at a residence in Carson, about 17 miles south of Los Angeles.
After initial reports said at least one person died, police later said at least three have died. While the conditions of the surviving victims are not known, police said one person was flown to a trauma center, Fox News reported.
While addressing a press conference, San Francisco police Officer Eve Laokwansathitaya said all victims are expected to survive the shooting which took place while "some sort of block party" was taking place.
Around 3.30 pm (local time), a shooting was witnessed at the Allen Premium Outlets, an outdoor shopping centre with more than 120 retailers located about 25 miles north of Dallas, according to New York Times.
A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said there are "some" victims at the mall. However, the spokesperson said that their status is not known at this moment.
Giving details about the incident, Atlanta Police Department Chief Darin Schierbaum said that the shooter shot five people, and one of them died at the scene.
DC Police Department said that a black sedan, possibly a Mercedes, drove through the neighbourhood and opened fire on a group of men indiscriminately, WUSA reported.
An active shooter has been reported on campus at the University of Oklahoma in the city of Norman on Saturday (local time), the school said in a tweet.
