Telangana BJP MLA Paidi Rakesh Reddy refuted the allegations of Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of a shortage of urea and fertilisers for the farmers in the state and accused the Congress of selling the fertilisers in the black market.
In his letter, Patnaik highlighted the deepening crisis faced by farmers across Odisha, particularly in tribal districts, due to short supply, black marketing, and alleged corruption in fertiliser distribution.
According to the available statistics, during the Kharif season 2024, 36.76 lakh metric tonnes of fertiliser had been sold by August 18. In comparison, this year sales have already reached 42.64 lakh metric tonnes, showing a significant increase.
"Farmers in Telangana are suffering due to a lack of urea supply. If it is not released immediately, the crops are going to be damaged. Farmers will come onto the roads and they will protest against the BJP government," Ravi told ANI.
