Chouhan argued that the current system of frequent elections leads to a significant waste of resources and energy, highlighting that the constant election cycle diverts a major part of the nation's energy and resources, which could be better utilised for long-term development goals.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday visited a dragonfruit farm in Karnataka's Bengaluru Rural as part of the 'Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyaan'.
Speaking to the mediapersons, Chouhan said, "I bow to the land of Punjab... The farmers of Punjab feed the entire country with their hard work... Direct sowing of rice saves a lot of water... I urge the farmers of the whole country to do direct sowing to save water..."
While addressing the mediapersons, Chouhan said, "Scientists are now coming out amongst the farmers in the fields. By interacting with the farmers, we understand the innovations they are making and the needs they mentioned today."
"When I used to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, I used to think about my state, and since I have become the Union Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development 'mere rom rom mein kisan hey aur har saans mein kheti hey'. So, I don't sit in Delhi...I have come to you," Chouhan told the farmers
While speaking with ANI, the Union Minister said, "Why was PoK formed? Who is responsible? Congress is responsible for the partition of India. Today, Kashmir is occupied by Pakistan because of the policies of Jawaharlal Nehru."
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to building a 'Viksit Bharat'. Chouhan launched 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Padyatra' from Larkui village in his Vidisha parliamentary constituency in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday evening.
"The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, in collaboration with state governments, are fully engaged in the planning and execution of this massive initiative," the statement read.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan hit out at Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for accusing External Affairs Minister Jaishankar of being silent on how many aircraft the Indian Air Force lost during Operation Sindoor.
"We will not leave any stone unturned in the development of Assam... Through self-help groups, PM Vishwakarma Yojna, Mudra Schemes, and various other schemes, we will try to end poverty in Assam...," Chouhan said.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised Assam's Aajeevika Mission for helping women become economically strong. He thanked the Prime Minister and Assam's Chief Minister for supporting the program, which has many self-help groups working well in the state.
