The Ministry of Railways has initiated steps to expedite the implementation of seven new High-Speed Rail (HSR) corridors announced in the Union Budget 2026, marking a major push towards next-generation passenger travel in India.
Speaking to ANI, Chidambaram said, "Parliament is for debating and following procedure that includes giving space to the Opposition to raise issues of concern to the nation. Opposition parties use various tools to register their protest, and this is a tool to do so."
"How the Congress planned to snatch away papers from the PM when he comes to the House. Parliament is not a place for 'gundagardi'. But when the Congress came to it, we acted with restraint. There is a limit to everything," Rijiju added.
Both Houses of Parliament are scheduled to begin discussion on the Union Budget 2026-27 on Monday, which was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1.
The IICT, a Government of India Centre of Excellence for AVGC-XR (Extended Reality), modelled on the IIT-IIM framework, welcomed students and gamers from over 20 colleges across India, including Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology and VIT, to participate in the league.
"When there were movements for Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand, the Congress government was in power. They used to say that the opposition had no issues, so they were demanding the creation of new states. They used to say, 'How will these small states function?" Shah said.
Speaking with reporters in Ayodhya, the Union Minister said, "Today I have come to Ayodhya to explain the details of the Union Budget 2026. This budget reflects a harmonious approach that balances heritage and development."
Large-scale participation from farmers, agricultural workers, and industrial unions nationwide is expected at protest sites across the country, including PRTC, power employees, and other worker organisations.
Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday criticised the Union government, alleging that the Union Budget has been designed to benefit multinational companies rather than the people of India.
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said, "Any person who engages in conspiratorial activities against the nation is always deserving of condemnation. The allegations levelled against Gaurav Gogoi today, of being involved in anti-national activities, are reprehensible.
