Asad was killed on April 13 in an encounter in Jhansi. He was killed along with Ghulam, both of whom were wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case of Prayagraj.
In a major development in connection with the murder of Atiq Ahmed, the lawyer of the slain gangster-turned-politician was on Saturday night, police said.
The three accused--Lovelesh Tiwari, Arun Maurya, and Sunny Singh were produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate Prayagraj pm Monday via video conferencing where their judicial custody was extended.
The names of Atiq Ahmed, his brother Ashraf, his son and others were the accused in Raju Umesh Pal's murder. During the investigation, the names of the eight accused surfaced who were arrested. The charge sheet was filed on Saturday.
"Reward on the arrest of Saddam, brother-in-law of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed's brother Ashraf, increased to Rs 1 lakh from Rs 50,000. He is wanted in a case registered at Bithri Chainpur police station", UP Police said.
