Congress MP Imraan Masood on Tuesday sparked a row after he referred to Dr Umar Un Nabi, the man who carried out the blast near Delhi's Red Fort that killed 15 people, as "a misguided youth".
Congress leader and former Minister of External Affairs of India Salman Khurshid on Tuesday called the Delhi terror blast "a matter of great concern" and said that no political statements made, only what is in the interest of the country should be said.
As per court sources, the NIA submitted before court that they need his custody to unearth the larger conspiracy behind the November 10 bast near the Red Fort in the city.
On November 10, a blast near Delhi's Red Fort killed 15 people and injured many others. The prime accused, Dr Umar Un Nabi, a Kashmiri resident, was in the wheel carrying the explosive material.
While seeking 10 days' custody of Amir Rashid Ali, the NIA said that he arranged a safe house for Suicide Bomber Umar Un Nabi. He also assisted him in preparing an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which was used in the blast near Red Fort.
CCTV visuals from the Mewat Toll in Haryana's Nuh district captured prime suspect Dr Umar Un Nabi passing through in the early hours of November 10, hours before the Red Fort-area blast, Delhi Police Joint CP Milind Dumbre confirmed.
While condemning the alleged terror attack in Delhi, CM Abdullah said that it is only a "few people who have ruined peace and brotherhood in the region," and that it is not fair to charecterise every Kashmiri as being associated with terrorism.
A senior police officer revealed that after the explosion, Umar's leg was found trapped between the steering wheel and the accelerator of the car, suggesting he was behind the wheel when the car blasted.
The National Security Guard (NSG), aided by a sniffer dog, investigated Khandawali village after police seized a red EcoSport (DL 10 CK 0458) suspected to be linked to Dr. Umar Un Nabi, the prime suspect in the Delhi blast case.
