As per Assam police officials, a total of five incidents have been committed by ULFA(I) this year in which 16 ULFA(I) cadres were arrested and one was killed in Police action.
Four United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) cadres surrendered at the Assam Police Headquarters in Guwahati on Wednesday, officials said.

Banned militant outfit United Liberation Front of Asom - Independent (ULFA-I) has called the threat by Pro-Khalistan terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu of Sikh for Justice (SFJ) to Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma "unfortunate and misunderstood."
The slain militant identified as Uttam Lahon alias Uday Asom, was involved in several kidnappings as well as civilian and Police official killings, the police said on Thursday.
Gaurav Abhijit Dilip, Superintendent of Police of Tinsukia district told ANI that, one ULFA-I militant was killed during the gun battle on Wednesday between the militants and security forces.
"Based on a specific input regarding the likely movement of a cadre of ULFA (I) from areas across Indo Myanmar Border towards Noglo village, a Joint operation along with Tirap Police was launched. The column laid ambush on suspected routes of Infiltration," PRO said
"The Assam Chief Minister has repeatedly appealed to him to come into the mainstream and to give different opportunities to our new generation. I urge him to come out for talks," Lt General Kalita told ANI in Guwahati.
