Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) bill will be tabled in the upcoming session of Assembly after a draft report related to UCC got approved at a Cabinet meeting on Sunday.
The Uniform Civil Code Bill will be brought for the approval of the Uttarakhand Cabinet after the completion of legislative work on the UCC report, said sources in the government.
On Saturday, under the chairmanship of uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a cabinet meeting was held in the State Secretariat to discuss the draft report on the Uniform Civil Code.
The Assam government is closely monitoring the Uttrakhand UCC report and will take its decision on banning polygamy in the state, in the upcoming budget session.
