Two fraudsters were arrested by a team of Delhi Police for cheating and deceiving the people including government officials and politicians by impersonating themselves as the Bharatiya Janata Party officials, police said on Tuesday.
Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 3.03 kg of foreign-origin gold worth Rs 1.9 crore from four passengers arriving from Sharjah to Coimbatore on Sunday, officials said on Sunday.
The Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) made a recovery on April 30. The operation was carried out by a combined team of Assam Rifles, Excise and Narcotics Department and other sister agencies based on specific information.
"1 kg 108 gm MD worth Rs 1.21 crore was found in the possession of the duo who came from Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh and alighted at the Kharadi bus stop with the contraband," said DCP Crime Branch Pune City Police, Amol Zende.
In a joint operation police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Tuesday seized a large quantity of contraband drugs worth Rs 3 crore and apprehended two persons in Assam's Karbi Anglong district.
Detailing the incident, Archana Dhurandar, Civil Lines Station House Officer (SHO) said, "Based on a tip-off, a joint team of police and Anti Crime and Cyber Unit swung into action and intercepted two persons who were looking out for customers to sell deer horns on Saturday".

Acting on a tip-off, police have intercepted a truck on National Highway-53 under Saraipali police station limits and recovered cannabis weighing around 1050 kilograms, said Mahasamund Superintendent of Police (SP) Dharmendra Singh.
The racket was unearthed following a raid by a special staff team of East Delhi and Preet Vihar police station who conducted the raid following secret information.
