Two persons died in an explosion at a firecracker manufacturing factory at Sivakasi in Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar district, said the police on Thursday.
A large-scale emergency operation was underway and a special operations team sealed off the site with a full-scale deployment including two helicopters and several emergency doctors.
According to police, the incident took place in Hotel Maa Shanti in Sanasar tourist place. The fire went out of control and later spread fast engulfing the entire area.
Girl Saketi Anjali (15) died on the spot after getting trapped under the debris of the building. The other two dead bodies were recovered from the debris and are yet to be identified.
