Agartala Government Railway (GRP) Police seized 44 kg of drugs worth Rs 2.52 lakhs at Agartala Railway Station, government railway police said on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Manik Saha on Sunday, during the road safety programme organised by Tripura transport department in Agartala, flagged off 16 vehicles to enhance state's transportation facilities.

According to the police, 13 kilogrammes of dry ganja were seized from the accused. The contraband was found concealed inside a trolley bag near the parcel office.
In a decisive move against drug trafficking, the Tripura Police have successfully intercepted a lorry carrying 515 kilogrammes of ganja. The seizure was made by the Kumarghat police station as the vehicle, a six-wheeled lorry was en route from Agartala to Guwahati on Sunday night.
The operation, spearheaded by SP Bhanupada Chakraborty, led to the confiscation of 10,000 Yaba tablets with an estimated market value of approximately 50 lakh rupees.
In a significant operation based on confidential information, authorities apprehended 11 Bangladeshi nationals, including 6 women with their children, at Agartala Railway Station on June 30, 2024.
