Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday held a roadshow from 'Ashram Chowmuhani' to 'Chowmuhani Mode' at Banmalipur in Agartala.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday came down heavily on the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Congress in poll-bound Tripura and said that both the parties have discarded interests of the people and the state.
"So, if the vote is given to Motha or Congress, it will be a vote to the Communists. So, if you want development and peace, press the 'lotus' button," Amit Shah said.
"BJP is in backfoot today. They changed their CM in the state 1 year ahead of the elections. This gave a message that no work was done in four years. BJP has done nothing for the youth or teachers in the state," Shashi Panja said while speaking to ANI.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha conducted a door-to-door campaign in Goalabasti and Masterpara (Gita Mandir) in Agartala on Sunday ahead of Tripura assembly elections on February 16.
The minister visited the area and met the local people and urged them to cast their votes in the election.
Assam Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday exuded confidence that BJP "will win with an even bigger vote margin when polls are conducted in Tripura due later this month".
Tripura CPI(M) secretary Jitendra Choudhary on Tuesday hinted that his party may ally with Tipra Motha, a regional front, in the upcoming Assembly election in February.
