Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader and former CM Manik Sarkar on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and said 60 per cent of the electorate did not vote for the BJP and asked the people to question Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that people of the three northeastern states where elections were recently held have reiterated their trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"The Dhanpur seat has been a CPI (M) bastion for 50 years. Although, the people trusted the party CPI(M) didn't deliver as per the people's expectations. But under PM Modi's Double Engine government, we have taken the benefits to the people," Pratima Bhoumik said.
The train tour will start from Delhi Safdarjung railway station on March 21, 2023, and will cover Guwahati, Sivasagar, Jorhat and Kaziranga in Assam, Unakoti, Agartala and Udaipur in Tripura, Dimapur and Kohima in Nagaland and Shillong and Cherapunji in Meghalaya in 15 days tour.
