As Sandeshkhali continues to be on the boil, a group of four members of the Congress party, on their way to the troubled area, was detained in Nazat by the police on Tuesday.

"Democracy has been murdered in broad daylight by the Mamata government in West Bengal and what is left is the dictatorship of Didi," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha president Vanathi Srinivasan said on Tuesday.
"There have been multiple attempts from various quarters to politicise the Sandeshkhali issue. Now that the court has clarified that there is no bar to arresting Sheikh Shahjahan. He will be arrested by the state police very soon," Ghose said.
Hitting out at Bharatiya Janata Party over its leaders visiting the State, Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee on Sunday said that BJP has suddenly become active in West Bengal however "it was nowhere to be seen in the past two years".
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Dilip Ghosh has alleged that Trinamool Congress's (TMC) strong man and a prime accused in Sandeshkhali violence and atrocities against women, Sheikh Shahjahan, brought "votes" and "money" to TMC and that's why he is not getting arrested.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) State Ministers Sujit Bose and Partha Bhowmik interacted with the locals of Sandeshkhali on Saturday. West Bengal Irrigation Minister Partha Bhowmick said that not a single woman has raised the issue of assault.
Reacting to West Bengal Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury's statement that Trinamool Congress is in a dilemma over the alliance, TMC MP Santanu Sen said that Adhir Chowdhury should first clear his stand whether he is against BJP or engage in giving oxygen to the BJP.
