An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 on the Richter Scale struck 188 kilometres from Dhaka on Friday afternoon, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said.

Earlier on Tuesday, an earthquake of magnitude 6.0 struck Myanmar at about 9:04 PM. It occurred at a depth of 27 km, making it susceptible to aftershocks. The earthquake was felt at a latitude of 20.42 degrees North and a longitude of 93.88 degrees East.
An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 hit Myanmar on Monday evening. The tremors were recorded at 5:39 pm, according to the preliminary data. The quake was centred at a depth of 139 km, at a latitude of 24.96 °N and a longitude of 95.12°E.
The USGS reported that the quake occurred at 10:08 am (IST). Tremors were widely felt in Dhaka around 10:40 am and were also reported in parts of India.
According to initial reports from local authorities, strong tremors were felt across parts of Mindanao, including Davao. Officials have urged residents to remain alert and follow safety advisories.
As per PMD, the earthquake was experienced seven kilometres north west of Malir at 09:34 am on Wednesday morning and the tremors were at a depth of 10 km within the earth crust.
