Emphasizing the importance of road safety, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena expressed concern over illegal parking on roadsides, flyovers, and other areas, particularly by buses, which causes inconvenience to commuters and compromises road safety.
Amid heavy rainfall in the national capital, the Delhi Traffic Police on Wednesday received over 50 complaints regarding waterlogging issues from across Delhi from 6 pm till midnight.
"On reaching the above incident spot, it was found that Tanuja and her child Priyansh, who were going to the weekly Budh Bazaar held in the Ghazipur Police Station area, East Delhi, fell into a waterlogged semi-constructed drain and drowned," said the police.
According to Raigad Police, "Traffic is stopped at Tamhini Ghat in the Raigad-Pune route due to a landslide. Traffic will be stopped for the next few hours until the debris is cleared."
The Delhi Traffic Police shared the development on microblogging site X and posted, "Traffic is affected on Ring Road in the carriageway from Dhaula Kuan towards Rajouri Garden due to the breakdown of a loaded truck at Mayapuri Flyover. Kindly plan your journey accordingly."
The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory on Wednesday regarding heavy traffic at Mahatma Gandhi Marg due to severe waterlogging at the Nigam Bodh Ghat.
"Traffic Alert Traffic will be affected on Outer Ring Road in the carriageway from IIT towards Delhi Cantt due to an accident of two loaded trailers on Munirka Flyover. Kindly plan your journey accordingly," the Delhi Traffic Police said in a post on 'X'.
