The Trinamool Congress has distanced itself from its MP Mahua Moitra, who is facing 'cash for query' allegations levelled by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, with party leader Kunal Ghosh stating that the "related person may answer the issues".
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Thursday demanded suspension of TMC MP Mahua Moitra over the alleged 'Cash for Query' scandal and said that if Mahua Moitra has done this work of taking money to ask questions, then the investigation should be done.

Trinamool Congress (MP) Mahua Moitra on Friday welcomed the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee enquiry into the 'Cash for Query' scandal and said that she is ready to answer the questions of the panel when the Committee calls her.
"Since we have waited for two years, we can wait for a few more days. If we do not get an appropriate response by October 31, Trinamool Congress will organise a larger movement from November 1. This time, Mamata Banerjee will lead the movement," Banerjee said.
Advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai on Friday alleged that attempts were made towards him to withdraw his complaint registered at the Central Bureau of Investigation in the 'cash for query' scandal.
TMC MP has also raised questions over the credibility of the affidavit that Hiranandani reportedly submitted to the Parliament Ethics committee, claiming that it is "neither on official letterhead nor notarised" and that the contents of the letter are "a joke."
