Reacting to the foundation stone of the Babri Masjid laid by suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Humayun Kabir in Beldanga, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla described it as a pattern of glorifying "foreign invader" like Babar in INDI alliance states.
On Saturday, the suspended TMC MLA, Humayun Kabir, laid the foundation stone for the construction of Babri Masjid in Murshidabad, amid widespread criticism from multiple political parties.
Suspended Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir is set to lay the foundation stone of Babri Masjid in Beldanga on Saturday, an event that has prompted heightened administrative attention and extensive security arrangements in Murshidabad district.
"Babar was an invader, and he has committed grave atrocities. If anyone identifies themself as related to Babar, we will consider them an invader too, and they will be treated accordingly," he said.
Ghosh's comments came amid heightened political exchanges in West Bengal, after Kabir reiterated his plan to lay the foundation stone of a "Babri Masjid" in Beldanga, Murshidabad district, on December 6.
In response to TMC MLA Humayun Kabir's remarks on 'Babri Masjid', Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar said, "This is an open threat to Hindus..." on Thursday.
The remarks came after TMC MLA Kabir triggered controversy by announcing that he would lay the foundation stone of Babri Masjid on December 6 in Beldanga, Murshidabad district, marking 33 years since the demolition of the disputed structure in Ayodhya.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Wednesday slammed the Trinamool Congress over one of its MLAs' remarks on the 'Babri Masjid' and said that such comments clearly show that the ruling party in Bengal is dependent on the "infiltrator vote banks".
