A row erupted on Thursday after West Bengal Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari claimed that the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government had reportedly banned Holi celebrations at Santiniketan's Sonajhuri Haat.
Demanding Adhikari to withdraw his statement, he questioned whether the top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would agree to such remarks. Siddique added that the LoP made these remarks to continue the rivalry between BJP and TMC.
