Three youngsters from the Tibetan community in Austria staged a protest in front of the Chinese Embassy in Vienna on Saturday over the human rights violations perpetrated by the Chinese Communist Party in Tibet.
Tibetan Youth Congress President Gonpo Dhundup on Thursday informed that a protest will be organized tomorrow in Delhi against China over the illegal occupation of Tibet.
Notably, "Tibet Matters March" comes in the wake up of the recent disinformation campaign against Dalai Lama. It started on April 29th from the state of Sikkim and will cross West Bengal and conclude at Tezpur in Assam on May 23rd 2023. The march involves over 80 volunteers from the regional
TYC President Gonpo Dhundup, said that the the march was initiated to commemorate the forced signing of the "Seventeen-Point Agreement" by Tibetan delegates with China on May 23, 1959, which ultimately led to China's occupation of Tibet.
The protest organized by the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress NY-NJ chapter took place in front of the Chinese Consulate in New York from 1 pm to 2 pm (local time).
The associations which took part in the peace rally included Himalayan Buddhist Associations Lahaul and Spiti, Buddha Sewa Sangh Shimla, Kinnaur Students Welfare Association Shimla, Lahaul-Spiti Students Welfare Association Shimla, Indo Tibetan Friendship Society Shimla, Bharat Tibet Sama
They showcased the independent lifestyle and freedom they enjoy while being outside of Tibet as compared to the lifestyle of Tibetans in occupied Tibet.
As per the report, the Chinese Communist Party's goal is to create "an iron curtain between those within and outside Tibet." In order to fulfil its aim, the CCP has been taking several measures, including confiscating the passports of Tibetans in Tibet and the whole of China.
